Muito mais que o guitarrista do Radiohead

Oito indicações ao Oscar. É só disso que se fala nas matérias sobre o filme "Sangue Negro/There Will be Blood". Ok, também mereceu menção o Urso de Ouro de melhor diretor que Paul Thomas Anderson ganhou no Festival de Berlin na semana passada. Mas a questão aqui é a trilha sonora do filme, a cargo de Jonny Greenwood. Sim, ele mesmo, o guitarrista do Radiohead - o ouvinte mais atento sabe que na verdade ele é multiinstrumentista e também toca piano, xilofone, ondas martenot, sintetizador, órgão, etc. - , acontece que, com essa trilha, ele mostra que é muito mais. Fortemente influenciado por nomes do erudito contemporâneo, as músicas para o filme seguem esse caminho, em composições para orquestra. Greenwood cita Messiaen, Ligeti e Penderecki entre os compositores que admira. Esse trabalho é a segunda incursão de Greenwood pelas trilhas sonoras, a primeira foi para o documentário "Bodysong" (2003), para o qual compôs peças para quarteto de cordas, sopros, baixo e bateria. O CD "There Will be Blood" foi lançado pela prestigiada gravadora Nonesuch, casa do Kronos Quartet, entre outros. Por esse trabalho Greenwood ganhou o prêmio de melhor contribuição artística no Festival de Berlin. E para completar, Greenwood mostrando que é eclético, lançou no ano passado o CD "Jonny Greenwood Is The Controller", uma compilação com hits e raridades do reggae jamaicano dos 60 e 70. Eis um cara a serviço da boa música, seja ela qual for.
